Saturday – Bikes Depart 9am & 10am
This year’s Oundle Classic Bike Rally coincides with this fabulous Vintage event so why not make a day of it and help us set the tone of the event with your classic steed and appropriate attire. All you need is a pre-2000 bike whether it’s a pampered and restored, or recently dusted off from your garage, join in the fun, wear period costume to match your bike. For interest on the day there will be a competition for the best bike and rider combination. To start the day there will be 2 rides that you may like to take part in.
To enter there is an entry fee of a donation of £5 minimum with all proceeds will go to the Oundle Clock & Bells Appeal. All entrants eligible for the competition and prizes. Please see the ‘sign up’ form below.
The Long Route
This is a challenging route for classic bikes taking you into some of the hills in the Welland Valley. The route sets out from outside The Coffee Tavern starting at 9.00am the intention is to be back in Oundle at the Vintage Festival for 13.00 for lunch.
The Medium Route
Riding out from the Oundle at 10.00, this ride is shorter and less hilly so that if you have that classic with limited gearing or just fancy listening to more of the Vintage Festival entertainment then this is the route for you, the aim is to be back for lunch in Oundle for 13.00.
After the ride why not enjoy the relaxed atmosphere by taking in a spot of lunch from the Festival Food Court or at the many food options in Oundle and the Vintage Festival, maybe even a beer!
The event will be on open roads, normal highway code applies and is not a race, it is not a sportive and the route will not be marked but the route can be done loaded above. It is a leisure ride and participants take part at their own risk.
There will be a number of prizes for each of the following categories, you do not have to have taken part in the ride, but a minimum donation of £5 for the clock fund is required to be judged. Those registered will be issued with a competition number and the judging will take part outside of the “The Coffee Tavern” in the Market square at 13.00.
The registration for the event will take place opposite The Coffee Tavern in the market square. Registration will be open from 8.30 and you can register on the day for a fee of £5.
The following are categories of bike for competition entry:
- 1990 to 2000
- 1980 to 1989
- Pre 1980
Prizes have been donated by :
- All bike types can be entered (e.g. road racer, mountain bike, chopper etc) but they must be in the above age groups.
- Riders are encouraged to dress to look appropriately for their age of their bike.
- Prizes given out for the best bike and rider combination in the categories A,B and C.
- Entrants can register on the website below or on the day to be eligible for the competition.
- We would welcome a picture of your bike to add to the classics gallery use the upload form on your competition entry.
