We hope that festival goers will be transported back in time to the sights and sounds that kept Britain’s spirits up in 1940. Following the amazing overhead passes by a Hurricane at the 2024 event, we have again been successful in attracting a flypast.
It has been confirmed (subject to weather and mechanicals) that the flypast will consist of a Spitfire and a Hurricane from the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at 11am. Visitors should look to the skies then, with the vintage aircraft set to approach from the North (the direction of Glapthorn), and then do three passes over the town.
So – do get to the event early to ensure you don’t miss the emotive sights and sounds of WW2’s most iconic aircraft with the unmistakable roar of their powerful Merlin engines.
N.B. The Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) confirms flypasts subject to prevailing conditions of good weather and aircraft serviceability.
